I think they will be pretty equal, maybe with Senna slightly ahead in the second half of the season.

I also think he was a great F1 driver but "never complained"? Really?

I think he was maybe just too nice to be a WDC, lacked that "killer instinct".

Well, maister, you're right: I'm sure everybody complains once in a while, and if we dig deep enough, surely we can find something, but Rubens was a truly zen 'maister', even when involved in many of the most exposed and commented controversies in F1 racing. At least, that's my impression.

... unlike the whining babies we have around these days...

Is he from Gaybon?

Yes, yes, I know that picture is hard to swallow (no pun intended, or maybe yes, it is intended). But, yes, it is ACTUALLY him... :rotflmao:

I couldn't agree more. You have been missed around here, grunf77. Thanks for the laugh!

... not mentioning Maldonado. It is sad to see Williams (apparently) sliding into pay driver haven.

On the other hand, even if I say "thanks" to Rubens from the bottom of my heart, it's not like Williams was going to take off with Rubens at the helm. Now, without an experienced (euphemism for "burnt"?) driver and without Head, I see nobody at the helm, that I know.

Kind of an "Italian-Cruiser-close-to-the-coast" in the make?

Whilst Ruben's being given his marching orders was always on the cards their choice of Senna was a shock for me: I was fully convinced that they were going to chose Sutil...

I guess in the end Senna simply had the bigger moneybags...

Sutil's upcoming court case is most likely why they didn't go with him, I mean bad press much? I know it's not likely to happen but if he'd got a prison sentence then what? That's why Williams didn't choose him I imagine.

Good point.

However, what kind of crooked world we live in, where you cannot attack a team owner with a broken bottle and then race in peace? We must do SOMETHING about that!

Petrov has been confirmed at Caterham, replacing the super useless Trulli. The good news is there will be no Italians on the grid since the early 70's.

So thats two F1 veterans we've said goodbye to this year. Rubens and Jarno.
