So that's it, officially Rubens Barrichello's career in F1 is over for 2012 as William's have announced that Bruno Senna is their other driver. Sinister will not be happy I know but it's not a shock they picked him.

Autosport wrote:Bruno Senna will drive the second Williams car during the 2012 Formula 1 season, as the team from Grove finally announced who will partner Pastor Maldonado.

Senna, the nephew of three-time world champion Ayrton, made his grand prix debut with the Hispania team back in 2010, but could not secure a seat for the start of the 2011 season.

He eventually replaced Nick Heidfeld at the Renault team from last year's Belgian Grand Prix, but the team decided to hire Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean for the 2012 season. Senna managed two points in eight races during 2011.

After months of speculation, Williams confirmed on Tuesday that the 28-year-old Brazilian will race alongside Maldonado this year.

Mother*******!! :argh: :argh: Wtf?

I thought Williams wanted to improve. How can a team that has Pastor Maldonaldo duck and Bruno Senna succeed in F1  :eerie: Well I wish that nincompoop Frank Williams and his team the worst of luck for 2012. May they have an extremely shitty season and finish dead last or even better get excluded from championship. :angryfire: :angryfire:

I'm surprised Bruno's mummy allowed him to drive for Williams since it's the same team that killed her brother. Could fate strike again? :armchair:

Frankly, I do NOT want to know why you're interested in that, Def. :)

I said MILFs, not FILFs (Fathers I would Like to *beep*). :rotflmao:

Whilst Ruben's being given his marching orders was always on the cards their choice of Senna was a shock for me: I was fully convinced that they were going to chose Sutil...

I guess in the end Senna simply had the bigger moneybags...

Don't forget the other main reason why he is in F1. His famous surname. :eerie:

Listen, it was hard enough to drive those heavy old cars back then under normal circumstances, but with a crazed monkey clawing you at the same time, it becomes nearly impossible! http://www.timflock.com/jocko.htm

I hope Rubens finds his home in Indycar series, as for Senna I think Maldo will have upper hand.

Rubens Barrichello, 1993-2011. Jordan, Stewart, Ferrari, Brawn, Williams. Raced more than anyone in history.

Image

He wasn't always an old man (as many of us):

5 times Brazilian kart champion at 17

Won Formula Vauxhall in his first attempt at 18

Won Formula 3000 in his first attempt (over Coulthard) at 19

In his third race in F1 went from 12th to 2nd, overtaking Prost and Hill brilliantly.

Destroyed Irvine and Herbert when using the same equipment.

He became the youngest driver in the history of F1 to achieve pole position (at Spa Francorchamps)

Won his first GP for Ferrari, in slicks, under rain

He always said Silverstone (and Great Britain) was his second home

He held the fastest time at Top Gear track for a long time, until Vettel broke his record

Thanks, Rubinho, you were a great F1 driver. Some will miss you: you never complained, unlike most.

Some people mantained Rubens was a great driver, but, hey, what did they know about racing?

I'd like to see Rubens in sports car racing. Its a great refuge for former F1 drivers.

Sutil probably was in the running (no pun intended), until his case came up for mention in court...
