Silly Season 2011

Postby Lyria on Fri Apr 09, 2010 3:25 pm

Yes, yes, I know, we've only just started 2010 but drivers contracts are being mentioned already. None other than our own Joe Saward suggests that Felipe Massa could be up for signing a three year extension to his deal with Ferrari very soon.

Joe's GP Blog

Now that could be a good thing as it shows stability and so on and so forth, but if the relationship breaks down between Massa and Alonso, well it's a long time to put up with warring team mates. Alonso has been fine so far with being stuck being Massa and the team refusing to make Massa let his team mate through, but I can't see him being thrilled if it keeps happening, then there could be fireworks and three years is going to feel like an eternity if that does happen isn't it?

Shall we start the ball rolling by creating a wild rumour of Villeneuve coming back next year? Or maybe 2011 will be Coultards year?

I expect to see Massa with Alonso next year. Biggest change of the silly season will probably be Raikkonen to Red Bull in place of Webber. If Schumi doesn't do well, I don't expect to see him in the car next year either...

They've been around for ages in GP2 and before the F3000. I think there money ran out though last year in GP2, so how they think they can get into F1 who knows (though I guess finding sponsors may be easier for F1 than GP2.)

thats what knocked US&A F1 out....

i think, having witnessed whats happening to the private teams, i guess F1 without manufacturers is as good as high school badminton game

they also did some endurance racing, LMP2 I think. They have been around for over 2 decades, they were oping to enter F1 in the 90s but sadly they didn't manage to finalise all the necessary agreements with sponsors etc, I really like them (ehm...), Ivone is a great character, sort of a modern day Giancarlo Minardi, he has been working for this for 20 years,I hope that he gets his chance :yay: :yay:
