2015 Russian Grand Prix

Postby Lawrence on Wed Sep 09, 2015 1:54 am

A little early for this thread, except Putin was just in Sochi with a number of Russian hockey stars. Check out the video. In the red uniforms, #8 is Ovechkin (Washington Capitals), #71 is Malkin (Pittsburg Penguins) and #11 is Vladimir Putin (President, Russian Federation). The guy who actually scores the goal is Pavel Bure (#10).

Pavel Bure, "Goal Suck" extraordinaire for Panthers, Rangers and Vancouver Canucks...Just kidding, he was blindingly fast skater with a great shot. Unfortunately, not a multi-dimensional player.

Putin really pouring on the PR thick. I wonder if Lewis will snub him once again after wining the race.

Actually, I am wondering if Putin is going to drive an F1 car at Sochi. He is more the size of an F1 driver than a hockey player.

Hey the shirtless one does judo, hunts, fishes, fly planes, drive submarines, ride horses, sings Blueberry Hill, and plays hockey.......so what can't he do (besides keeping his economy growing)?

As I recall from last year it was one of the most boring races known to man  On such a race I'd probably welcome highlights but oh no, we get this one live :yaynot: I hope it's better than last year!!!

As much as I love Spa or Suzuka, I can only hope that this track will be more accommodating of SF15-T than those two.

Me too!!

Rosberg claims the title fight isn't over yet, well it might not be, but it's not that far off. This race Rosberg needs to win, and if his team mate would just help him by not finishing, we might just have a good battle on our hands in the last few races

Oil spill on the track, resulting in delay of FP1, then blockage of pit exit, yet FiA is not allowing time extension to offset practice loss. My believe is there are quite a few interested parties on the grid, who would like to do some development related testing on the track as part of preparation for the race. Position taken by FiA is then very hard to understand and accept. This is not first time teams were adversely affected from short FP; last time I think it was rain which prevented teams to perform preparatory work, all to the detriment of race quality. (re: converstaion with Vettel, and how loss of time on track affected his race preparation. Pre-race car set up plan was incomplete due to absence of relevant data).
